As you surely know, Donald Trump threatened to destroy a civilization this week.

While discussing his ongoing war with Iran, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.” Just hours later, he backtracked, saying he would hold off for two weeks.

Now, a clip from CNBC‘s Squawk on the Street, an American business and financial news show, is going viral for its absolutely unhinged coverage of Trump’s Iran threat.
“The deadline that President Trump has set, 8 p.m., has threatened to destroy a civilization,” the host said, pausing to think.

“How does an investor process that? Is it a bigger upside risk or downside risk?”

So far in the replies, people are appalled at the way the TV host spoke about Trump’s threat.
“When the historians ask how we knew society had fallen this will be the clip they use,” this person said.

“Absolute fucking psychopaths,” this person agreed.

“The European mind cannot comprehend this.”

“There are no upsides to threatening an entire population, to threatening genocide,” another person said. “The fact that the markets are, speaks to the evils of Capitalism, where profits are prioritized or human life.”
