Lately, the Trump administration has been patting itself on the back for its military actions against Iran.

In a recent press briefing, United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth praised God for the “success” of Operation Epic Fury, saying: “Our troops, our American warriors, deserve the credit for this day. But God deserves all the glory.”

Additionally, President Trump doubled down on that message when he was directly asked if he believes that God supports the US striking Iran. “I do because God is good,” Trump responded. “God wants to see people taken care of. God doesn’t like what’s happening…I don’t like what’s happening.”

Well, Pope Leo XIV seemingly had something to say about these comments about God’s “support” of the US military actions against Iran.

“God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs,” the Pope wrote on X. “Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.”

So far, people in the replies are like:

“Thank you Pope Leo for teaching others what Christianity is about and denouncing their ridiculous claims that war and killing is justified,” this person said.

“Can you also be the President of the United States please,” this person joked.
